Love always trusts.
At first when I started looking into what love always trust looks like. I started by trying to explore about how me trusting in others could help them grow or set them free but then I realized that this one is not about me. I flipped the coin so to speak and explored how I could make myself more trust worthy for others to come to me. Let’s face the facts, you would’t walk up to a random stranger on the street and take them to a high cliff. Hand them the rope that is attached to your back and then jump off the cliff. You don’t know if their going to hold on Or not they could just let go cause they don’t Care or you may be just wasting their time. There Is a saying out there that says “trust is earned not given” and through my experience I would have to say this is true. Trust is built within the context of relationship, the more you know someone the more you are willing to trust them for example husbands and wives, best friends, brothers ect If you asked me to jump off a cliff and the only guarantee of me surviving would be on the condition that the person who held the rope did not let go. I could probably count on two hands and give you a list of people who I would trust when doing this. It just seems to be a fact of life. Trust has to be gained. However there is one anomaly that I have found one person who stands out from the rest. You may have heard of him before, or read about him. His name is Jesus. I can just picture it now. A young women who has been tortured by the demons of her past, who has built wall after wall to protect her heart after having it hurt many times. This desperate women has sold herself to many different men hoping to fill the void Hoping to feel some sense of peace after being told she is loved even if she knows he doesn’t really mean it and that she is getting used just for the sexual pleasure of other men. Yet a few words from one man changed her life. “Woman where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” As she looked up in to the eyes of Jesus I’m sure every wall she had ever put up instantly crumbled into ash. The kindness and compassion in his eyes brought tears to hers. She managed to speak a few words. “no one my lord” He reached out and brought his hand to her cheek and as he spoke again her heart leaped. “neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more” I can just picture Mary slowly standing to her feet wiping the dust from her dress, I can see her looking slightly confused and puzzled. I wonder how long she gazed into the face of Jesus before falling into his open arms. I wonder how long she cried in the courtyard, I wonder how many tears fell down her cheek as Jesus whispered words of life into her ear and spoke of long lost dreams she had had as a child. I can picture Jesus brushing the tears from her eyes and taking her hand not caring what people thought. I can picture Mary smiling and putting her hand on her chest as a warm burning feeling fills her heart as a flame of joy and peace is rekindled inside of her. It was this kind of man that was trusted by so many people. The homeless, the broken, the slaves the free they flocked to hear him speak. I can only imagine the people he set free. And it makes me wonder. Is the day drawing near where I will walk into a room and someone will comes to me and begins to pour out Thier life story to me? Will there be a time where I will look into the eyes of a young women who feels unloved and tell her she is beautiful and she will believe it? What about the young man who feels betrayed by the world and is ready to quit the note is on his bed and the gun is loaded and sitting in the car. Will he believe me when I tell him there he is destained for greatness and that he is going to accomplish amazing and wonderful things. What is it that will make the difference? The answer… do they trust you? All someone Had to do was look into the eyes of Jesus and instantly they would trust him with Their life. What was it about him that let people trust him so easily. In the dictionary one of the definitions of trust is the firm reliance on ones character/ability. Another word that was used a Lot was confidence in someone or to rely on them. I have discovered it’s not about me going into the streets and finding someone to hold the rope as I jump off the cliff but its about me positioning myself and holding myself in such a way that when people need someone to hold the rope as they jump off the cliff they would trust me to do it What could you do to become More trust worthy, do people see you as a person of integrity, can people rely on and place confidence in you? The more time that we spend getting to know Jesus the more we are going to look like him. The more we look like him the more people will come to you with their problems because you know the solution and his name is Jesus. People will come to you because they have heard you have wisdom far beyond your years. People will come to you because they have heard that when they look in your eyes they feel loved and worthy. They know you as a person with a compassionate and caring heart, they know you will not Judge them and that you are quick to forgive. That’s who Jesus was and thats what you can be too because with Jesus you look like love and love always trust so people will find you trustworthy. |

travisyoung Expectations (Love is Not Self Seeking)
I will never set expectations on the people I love or even random strangers.
Your expectations for people will never be completely fulfilled and when someone doesn’t meet your expectations they will let you down Or disappoint you
When you get disappointed in people it leads to offense and hurt. The solution.
Look at every body with love and the same way Christ does. If you come to people that you love with the attitude of “i am here to serve you” and “I am here to support you and help you make your dreams become a reality.” Then You set the people around you up for the greatest amount of success possible.
Expectations for other people may be placing things on them that they don’t even want to achieve. When you place expectations on people it’s almost like your saying this is how you are going to be. You may be wanting things for them that they don’t even want.
Is it your life or theirs?
Love isn’t self seeking if you truly love someone then you are not in it for you, and if your not in it for you, you won’t place expectations on people because you want them to do what makes them happy and be who they want to be.
Not placing expectations on people is a great way to avoid heart ache. Because just in case you havn’t figured it out yet it is impossible for someone to live up to your expectations.
Jesus never looks at us with expectation he just encourages us and along the way helps us be the best we can be. If you do this then you will be much happier and so much more satisfied with the people around you.
Expectations are selfish. If You want people to do certain things or act a certain way to meet your needs or satisfy you, remember love isn’t self seeking so you won’t need people to do something to satisfy you.
If you have Jesus Christ in your life and if you understand what he truly did for you then you should already be satisfied and you will not need other people to do things for you or act a certain way to please you.
If you realize what you already have you will stop focusing on what you think you need. Selfless love is thinking of others first and it’s this type of love that will set you and everyone else around you free from expectation.
Massenengeh
May 24th, 2011
travisyoung Massenengeh is what they call a squatter camp here in south Africa. This is one of the most impoverished area’s that we visited on our trip and here are a few journal entries from the trip
Wednesday April 13th Day 9 (our first time in Massenengeh)
Today we went over to the place called massanegah man it was soo cool being there today. the little kids absolutly love you they hold your hand and just want to be loved its wonderful. They dont get attention from anyone so the second you show up they just hold onto you. When we first showed up and it seemed like we had no idea what was going to happen or what we were going to do. But we started off with meeting these ladies i guess they were kind in charge they went out and spread the word that healers were in the town so about 10 people came one guy was deaf and he was healed, one girl had tb and she said she felt like she couldnt explain what was happening i remember hearing Dennis say “Jesus is healing you and taking your sickness away. Another guy had a stoke and he was about 90% healed when he left the thing kept jumping around but he did accept jesus which was cool. We got a few videos we went around thw whole village healing the sick and telling people about Jesus. These two kids wouldnt let go of my hand i love them they were awesome. We saw some pretty legit stuff today it was cool. one guy was was completely wasted on alcohol and he wanted a few rands so he could go and by some more and this older guy was about to give him some money when Nixon (one of the kids we have been discipling he is only 17 years old) told him not to, the guy freaked out and was like ready to fight him and nixon was just like, let me pray for you bro, you need Jesus. So we started to pray and the two little kids laid thier hands on him as well. As i prayed for him he started looking at me weird and felt my hand said something and when i asked Nixon what he said he said the guy said “that i look like Jesus” then he kissed my hand. I then hugged him and told him i love him and that he was precious (like I know Jesus would want to tell him that and since he said I was Jesus i figured that he might as well here it from HIM) the mans countenance changed like some demons were taken out of him he got quieter and his face seemed peaceful. I dont really know all the details of what we did during the day many people got healed and set free but i was with the kids for so long i didn’t do much praying. I know a lot of poeple needed jobs so we prayed for Jobs and for Jesus to bless them and provide for them. I know we saw some backs healed and quite a few knees and also there was this sweet lady who we got to pray for her husband had left her and her son had been wrongfully charged and she constantly had migraine headaches. After we prayed the headaches were gone and we told her we would be back to check up on her. Also this little kid was sick in his bed and dennis went in and prayed for him and then he told them mom your baby is going to be okay now it was so awesome. I figured out though why i do what i do.
Watching peoples faces light up when the get instantly healed there is nothing sweeter then that it is amazing to see. To watch the joy of the Lord spread across thier face is all the payment i need for doing what i do. To know we are changing lives, and transforming peoples worlds is enought for me. There is nothing greater, no better way to spend you time then to do what you were created to do and you were created to be like Jesus you were created to love and through your love set the captives free!
Lesson learned from day 9 if you catch a fish and give it to a hungry person you feed them for a day. If you teach a hungry person how to fish you feed him for life. Most of the people in Massenengeh have what i would say is a poverty mentality and our job down here is to show these people that they have the same things we do if they believe in Jesus. “The man of God” concept has been burned into the minds of the people down here so getting them to realize they can do stuff to is a challenge all on its own. We just have to keep loving them and showing them truth and sooner or later they will come around.
I don’t know the date we went next but the next time we went were were walking around and after meeting someone he took us to a house that he said had a man inside who had a stroke. we prayed for the man and got him up and walking he was still shaking a lot but we told him we would be back to visit him and check up on him
Tuesday April 26 day 22
Today is our first time taking the God Squad out to Massenengeh. When we got there and we split up into 2 teams our team wasn’t seeing much right away but pretty quickly we ended up talking with some pretty awesome people. You always have to pray for people for jobs but some people need healing in their bodies so we talked to one guy and found out where sick people were so they took us to their houses and we prayed for them then first lady got healed and said in Zulu ” these people are actually healing us” I thought that was cool then there was another lady where all of her pain left her and she was happy and she praised Jesus. Then we got to pray for a mom and her baby the kid looked a little more lively after we talked to her which was cool as well. Then we moved on and got to pray for another man just for blessing its amazing how many people here just want you to bless them. After that we got kept on walking and then we talked to another mom with her child the girls and Brandon prayed for her while Loovo and i went in to visit the man we had recently prayed for with a stroke. I got in and his wife was sitting there i asked where her husband was and she called out him name and he came walking into the room! The shaking was completely gone. She told us that after we had prayed for him and left when he woke up i the morning he was 60-70% better. It was so cool to go from shaking and having basically no control over his body to walking with a cane that is so awesome! He said he was doing much better he said he just had pain in his knees so we hit that he said there wasn’t much difference so i explained to him that since he believed in Jesus he could pray for himself to. So he is doing much better he just has a little bit of pain in his knees but that will go away to we will go and visit him on Friday and maybe even tomorrow. After that the little kids started to fallow us around and hold our hands and let us love on them we went the mother with the baby the little child looked much more lively and awake so that was good. Real transformation is happening can’t wait for our tent meetings to start up. so after praying for all the people we could we just started talking to people we met up again with the lady who had no eye and she had a headache and foot pain and everything got healed but we still have yet to see her eye grow back. After this we headed back up the main road and Dennis came and picked us up. We dropped off the God squad kids and that was it for the day.
Lesson of the Day: If people are going to learn to pray for themselves and others they have to know what they have. You cant use something you don’t know you have.
Friday April 29th day 25
We went to Massenengeh it was awesome today. First nathan talked to a guy about alcohol i thought he was wasting his time but after a little bit of talking to him he let him pray for him. Next we talked to 2 ladies one who had open sores all over her body and the other had broken her ankle and it healed the wrong way. As we were praying for the lady with open sores i thought of John G :ale and how he would put his hand onto a pussy open sore and pray and when he was done his hand print would be embedded into the open sore. so i put my hand over top of the sore on the ladies hand and then she moved it up and my hand was on top of the open sore. i commanded all the pain to go and when we checked all the pain from her sores had left her body and she said she felt much better. The lady with the broken ankle said she was completely better. the rest of the day was spent catching up with people the guy who had a stroke is now walking barely with his cane and there is still a little bit of pain in his knees we prayed again and assured him the pain would soon me gone. The women who had headaches hasn’t had one since we prayed for her and her husband who left her called her and said he wants to connect back up with ther and sort things out and the sons charges had been completely dropped so it was good reports all around. Next is one of my favorite stories from our whole trip we got to talk to this one lady who was holding a baby she said her baby was sick but she didn’t say what so we began to pray for the baby. I got super intense when i prayed and i felt this compassion thing overwhelm me. while we were praying the baby kicked his legs and then we asked the mom what had been wrong with her baby. She said her baby had been paralyzed it was awesome she said her baby had never done that before thank you Jesus. Apparently Junior and Brandon prayed for like 6 ladies that were all healed instantly like that boom boom boom so awesome i think we are also going to start a church in Massenengeh so amazing
Lesson of the Day If you are praying for people who do not speak your language and you have a translator make sure he prays what you say when you are praying. When people get healed it is important for them to know who healed them. Since there are many witch doctors and healers walking around they need to know that Jesus healed them and they need to experience the goodness of God.
Tuesday May 3rd day 29
today in Massenengeh we were walking around looking for the house where the guy who had the stroke stays. We met up with 3 guys standing around drinking and laughing one guy had pain in his entire body and another guy was feeling sick. The one guy with pain in his body was completely healed and another after praying for him i told him to take a deep breathe and he said he felt much better we talked a little and i asked him if he knew Jesus and he said no i asked him if he knew who Jesus was at all. He said no i explained to him who Jesus was and what he did then i asked do you want to know Jesus so then he said yes. So he accepted Jesus so cool. We finally found the house of the the guy who is healed from his stroke he still has little bit of pain when he walks but besides that he is doing good i taught him how to pray for himself and explained to him what he can do if Jesus is inside of him. Dennis is right though you can only come into a area so many time and heal all of the sick but i guess that is a good problem to have though. This is something i definately have to share though i guess kayla and robin came with brandon and nixon and near the end kayla wanted to pray for the sick as well thats so cool. (we found out later in the week that the person who they prayed for had been completely healed)
The lady had had sores all over her butt and she couldn’t sit without it hurting so she laid in bed all day and then later when we went back she was sitting in a chair completely healed
Lesson of the day: If you are healing the sick so you can see miracles it will be exciting for a while but when you start seeing consistent results if you are still healing the sick to fulfill your need for seeing the miracles happen you will wear out. You need to realize that healing the sick is “Not for you” but for “The person being ministered to”. Healing the sick is to show people the love, mercy, and goodness of God. it is completely about the other person and that is where compassion comes in. If you are healing the sick because you love them and want to set them free then your heart is right but if your doing it for you then you will grow tired and burn out. Thanks to Brandon Lee for that one
Wednesday May 4th day 30
Today was our first Church service. We went to the store and bought some rakes and got to Massenengeh and cleared out an area to put chairs out. after we were done we got dropped off at the beach while Dennis went and picked up Pastor Frank and all of the chairs he came and picked us up after 2 hours and we drove back. When we started to put up chairs children began to flock . I made a temporary drum set out of garbage i found around the dump as started to play the kids came and listened and we all had a blast. Dennis went and picked up the God Squad and then came back our first church service was packed, we had about 40+ kids and about 3 or 4 adults. The God squad did worship and after Brandon spoke to all the little kids. At the end Dennis prayed and told everyone to put there hands on their hearts and listen to God. This is another moment of the trip that was very special to me. i looked over and saw this little black kid about 4 or 5 years old with his hand on his heart. He looked so peaceful like he was sitting on the lap of Jesus and nothing was going to take him off of his lap. another young kid came and poked him trying to distract him but he just waved his hand at him and out his hand back on his heart. After Dennis said amen the child sat there for about 5 more minutes in perfect peace and then opened his eyes. It is so awesome see things like that. After Church Dennis drove off with the chairs and pastor Frank and after giving the kids spinning rides and piggy backs we left the camp. Man church was so GOOD!
Lesson of the Day: Things do not always go as planned but it is your willingness to do what no one else will try thats will set you apart from everyone else. If you can adjust and change even if things are not going your way and still have peace about it your setting yourself up for and EPIC WIN!
Wednesday May 11th day 37
So today was our last Day in Massenengeh and we did our last church service as well. Today i walked around filming the camp and showing places where people had gotten healed. While were were walking around i wanted to check up on the guy who had the stroke we went to his house and found only his wife inside. i asked where her husband was and she said he want to town. Now you have to understand this is a pretty big deal he didn’t drive to town he walked to town! thats like 3 or 4 km or like 2.5 miles thats some legit stuff. so i was pumped about that as we came out we ran into him and he informed us that all the pain was completely gone and that he was walking barely with out the cane at all. as well as seeing him we got to pray for the lady who had a sick baby she had pain in her ears and all of the pain left. i had a little kid on my shoulders the whole time i recorded so that got a little tiering but after walking around and recording everything we went back up to where church was. I set up my drums again and this time one of the God Squad kids named Antando preached and he did good. Discipleship really works these kids are getting it and becoming amazing. after the service we cleaned up and play with the kids for about an hour and then we all went home. It was sad to say good bye but im looking forward to seeing what happens with Massenengeh know that the Kids are in charge they are going to BLOW IT UP
Lesson Learned: Youth are no different then adults sometimes they are even more responsible and more excited to do the work of the kingdom. There is no junior Jesus or holy spirit all you have to do is give them a chance and you will see what they are capable of.
So those are the experiences we had in Massenengeh hope they encourage you and open your eyes to see that God is good, God is Love, and he is everything you need. I hope to be getting some video up soon and they be in this Africa blog as well until then
Be blessed with a passion to see your town wrecked for God. Be encouraged to trust in someone that may not deserve it. Go and light up the world cause you got the light and he wants to get out!
Travis Young
Introduction to South Africa
May 23rd, 2011
travisyoung There were six of us Dennis, Maria, Brandon, Sue, Nathan and I (Travis Young). Six months ago Dennis went to south Africa and brought the gospel the Good news to south Africa he ministered, and discipled, and healed the sick. When he came back he said he was going to bring a team next time he went so thats what happened. I was at first going to tight one big blog but then i thought that would be a little to much cause there is so much that happened on our trip it would take page after page to tell you all so i am going to break it down into sections. I will list the places we went and the things that happened while we were on our trip. First i will give you an introduction a little on our team and then on our trip.
Dennis Bontrager a young man who has passionately been pursuing Gods heart since Jesus became real to him in the middle of a field. He grew up Amish and his families life was radically changed when his little brother got instantly healed. There are not many people that i have seen that live with such a passion for young people and know who Jesus truly is.
Brandon Lee is like the computer of the team. His advanced knowledge of scripture and references and the simplicity he brings to the gospel rocks my world. They say a genius is someone who can take something super complex and make it super simple if anybody does that no one does it better then Brandon. he also walks out compassion and thought management better then anyone i know
Maria Miller a young woman who has such a gentle heart. her care for the children and her love for the people and other ladies in the camp was cool to watch
Sue Ellen Bontrager is basically one of the most amazing musicians in the world. when she sings people can feel Jesus in here voice its amazing. as well as singing she is also very loving towards all the young kids and moms in the areas
Nathan Funk is one of my best friends we met in redding California at a bible collage and then we went to San Jose and now Africa. Nathan grew up as a Mennonite and he always grew up questioning and wondering why Jesus wasn’t seen in church like he was in the bible. Nathan has a passion for truth he loves to sing and loves to just find out more about God he is one of my closest friends and biggest inspirations!
We all went to south Africa and there were many locations that we ministered in Massenengeh, MRM (mighty river ministries, we ministered to and with the God Squad, and went to prison and walked the beaches of Margate.
I kept a quite extensive journal on my trip so instead of writing completely new blogs i thought i would let you see what it was like through my eyes so ya here we go.
Welcome to South Africa through the eyes of a 20 year old kid passionate about seeing the Good news Brought to the entire world.
Oh and just for the record Dennis is the oldest on the team and he is twenty two and when we started there were two 19 year olds i turned 20 while i was over here. you are never to young or to old to spread the Wonderful News!
As you can see we like to have fun. If the kingdom isn’t fun then your doing it Wrong!
I stand at the Door and Knock
March 14th, 2011
travisyoung This morning during worship at church I was hit by the sudden realization of what revelations 3:20 really means. For those of you who don’t know it let me share I with you. Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me. Now I think way to often we picture this verse where a nice gentleman is standing at the door. His hat is off and his hair is smoothed to the side. His suit is freshly ironed and his shoes are recently shined. he clear his throat and in a gentle tone politely asks “can I come in?” he taps gently on the door tap, tap, tap, and asks “are you there?.” when he hears no answer he knocks one last time and then when the door does not open he puts his hat on clears his throat and turns his back and walks away.
I wanna make this very clear this is not the proper image of the father who so desperately longs to be with us. Our father not only wants to be with us but he would tear down every obstacle in the world to be with you. He would even go through hell for you and the truth is he Actually did.
He was beaten till his body was unrecognizable, pieces of barbed metal tore through flesh, bone, and cell tissue. The very flesh that held his body together and the very flesh that had been created in his mothers womb hung loosely from his sides. The guards jeered and mocked him as his blood splattered on their faces. Jesus loved you so much he let himself be tied to a dead tree as rusty nails were mercilessly forced through his flesh. A crown of circular thorns was pushed deeply into his skull. Not to mention the fact of the heart break he would have experienced when his own family and own people betrayed him, the very people who professed to love him, the very people who fallowed him fro days in the desert. But when he died he went down to hell and took the keys that held you captive he punched the devil right in the gut pushed him down on the ground put his foot on the devils neck and told him that all the people he created were no longer his. When he left hell twirling the keys around his finger the devil lay on the floor gasping for breath while this terrifying realization gripped his soul… He had just been defeated and all his power taken and given back to the sons and daughters of God.
And now this father, this lover is not only knocking on the door but pounding on it. The force from his hands shakes the frame and foundation of the door to it’s core. The room on the other side of the door in which you stand shakes. All composure is gone and instead of a well dressed polite fine groomed gentleman which we normally think of. This picture is replaced by a man on his knees. Tears are streaming from his eyes and sweat is pouring from his brow. It drips down into his eyes stinging them and as he squints his throat tightens again as he screams “let me in!” his voice in numb As he is tired of yelling, screaming, and begging but he won’t stop he won’t be quiet. He knocks again and again and unlike some fathers where a knock on the door would mean your in trouble or he would like talk to you about what you have done wrong, this knock is nothing like that. His knock is one of utter desperation. 2 Peter 3:9 says “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness; but is longsuffering to you-ward, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” the father will keep on knocking and he will not stop until you open the door.
Even if you open it a crack a glimpse of his love for you will cause you to throw the door wide open. He will stand to his feet and run to you he will sweep you up in his arms and tears will once again pour from his eyes only these will be tears of joy. He will set you down on the ground and brush the tears from you eyes. He will bring his hand to you cheek look into your eyes and tell you that you are the most beautiful person in the world and the love in his eyes will make you feel as such. Then he will grab your hand and pull you towards the door and as you come to the doorway your knees might shake, and your hand may tremble you may even resist leaving the room. But when he turns to you and says “let me show you my kingdom” every doubt in your mind will be washed away and then hand in hand together you will step out of your room and experience the world with your loving father. Luke 12:32 says “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Gods desire for you is to bless and prosper you so go and experience the world in the safe loving arms of the father who will never let you go and never leave you.
Be Blessed with life health and strength peace and revelation of the knowledge and goodness of God i love you all

Open up your eyes

AND
The deceiver, the destroyer, the thief, the accuser of the brethren, the father of lies, the master of disguise. He goes by many names the most commonly known as the devil and his greatest power is getting you to believe something that isn’t true, getting you to believe a lie. BLINDSIDING you to the truth.
Have you ever believed that you were not worthy, that you did not qualify?
Have you ever believed that you could never change, never get free of an addiction?
Have you ever felt like no one in the whole world loved you, no one wanted to see you?
Have you ever believed that you were so dirty, so sinful that you would never be accepted?
Have you given in to guilt, to shame, thinking your trapped forever in a hopeless prison of regret and torment?
Did you ever buy into the lie that God took your father, that he gave you sister cancer, or that he killed your little brother?
Have you ever believed that those dirty sinful thoughts in your head are yours and you have no power over them?
Have you been believing this whole time that you are powerless to change you circumstances, that no matter how hard you try you will always fail, or that you have no control over the devil?
Have you been believing that God isn’t going to help you because you haven’t been good enough, havn’t kept the slate clean, or haven’t done the right things, said the right prayer, or lived the right way?
If so then you have been BLINDSIDED
All i would like to do today is ask you to open your eyes, ask you to reconsider what you may have been told. Ask you to run away from the status quo what everyone has told you is true and for once find out the truth for yourself. Right now i ask you to open you eyes and even your ears and ultimately your heart as i share a few truths with you today. My greatest hope for you today is that the blindness would be removed, the lie would be broken and you would be equipped with the truth that will keep you from getting BLINDSIDED again.
1. You are worthy, and you do qualify (Colossians 1:12). The main reason being Jesus qualified you Romans 5:17-19, his death on the cross was more then enough to atone for Gods wrath against sin. You not only qualify but you are accepted and loved John 17:23
2. You are already free in Christ 2 Corinthians 5:17 Not only do you have the power to change Philippians 4:13, but you also have a real and powerful God living inside of you. Galatians 2:20, Romans 8:31
3. Believing no one in the world could lover you is the furthest thing from the Truth John 3:16 if you were the only one on the earth that had fallen in sin know that Jesus would have still died and been sent JUST FOR YOU Ephesians 2:10 you were hand crafted by the father, you are his creation, his work of art and he loves you
4. Not only does Jesus accept you but you are loved by him (Romans 8:38-39) and nothing can separate you from it. You are chosen and adopted as a son or a daughter into his family. Ephesians 1:1-14,
5. Not only are you clean but you are seen as holy and righteous in the eyes of the Father! 2 Corinthians 5:21, Colossians 1:20-21
6. Not only do you have power over sin it is no longer part of you. Ephesians 4:22-24, Romans 6:2-8 to top it all off God doesn’t even remember your sins Isaiah 43:25
7. And most importantly you do have power over the devil. Matthew 10:1, Luke 9:1, Mark 6:7-10,12-13 James 4:7 His power has been stripped and know you hold the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven Matthew 16:19 and God has given you plenty of promises showing you how much you have. 1 Peter 1:3-4 Ephesians 1:3 Colossians 2:9-10
I hope this help shed some light on why you may be struggling we all believe lies and up to this point we all fall. But the real test comes when you find out that you have been believing a lie and then you are faced with a choice. Do you continue to believe in the lie because everyone else is still trusting it, and heaven forbid you will have to get out of you comfort zone. OR do you embrace truth even if no one else is doing it and start to live a victorious live where we are called to rule and reign.
Remember We all have victory through Christ and With him and in Him so be blessed. 2 Corinthians 2:14
Stay victorious and conquer you fear because greater is he that is in you then he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, John 16:33, Luke 10:19
Be BLessed with love strength compassion and a willingness to learn and grow and a drvie to conquer your fear, the devil, and a determination to live a life that shows the grace and mercy of a loving father and our lord Jesus Christ
Travis
Childish Theology
December 16th, 2010
travisyoung The other day i was browsing Facebook and i looked at Brandon Lee’s wall and it said this
Kid core values:
I have joy and I’m happy all the time. I cheer up anyone who is sad. “Fear of man,” “worry,” and “insecurity” aren’t in my dictionary. I know Dad loves me, all the time. They are good, all the time. I fully believe anything my Dad tells me. Anything is possible… because I’m a kid. I’m on a horse.
So this was in the back of my mind for the past few days and i was thinking a lot about how kids see this world and how they behave and then i thought there must have been a reason why Jesus said “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Mark 10:14)
I was thinking about how a father picks up his child and throws him in the air. It is not fear that is on the child’s face but as he is tossed in the air he only squeals with delight. A terrible fear of heights does not overwhelm him and he does not scream to be put down for fear of being dropped.
I saw another young girl the other day in the mall. I was sitting in the food court and all of a sudden a young girl in a pink jacket runs buy smiling and giggling. At that moment i don’t see the mother but then second later i see the mother running after the daughter scooping her up in her arms and returning her to her seat. The young child has no fear of the ground she hasn’t explored before, all she knows is she is playing a never ending game of catch me if you can, and knows if she adventures to far her mother will come and rescue her from what isn’t safe.
I think of kids playing sports and how when that son or daughter scores a goal, gets a touchdown, or gets a point the father jumps up in the stands making sure everyone know that is his son.
I think of children playing dress up. “I’m Superman” one yells “Well I’m Bat Man” another shouts “Oh ya well I’m Spider-man he’s the best” and then the run off yelling and screaming beating up all the bad guys always winning cause losing ins’t an option. None of the Kids ever aspire to be a drunk, or rapist, you don’t here shouts of i want to be the abusive husband, or i want to be the drug addict NO! a child’s heart and thoughts are pure so that is who he chooses to be.
I think about the young child in the back seat asking why all the time. “Daddy why is the light green?” “Because it means we can go” “Why?” because its safe” “Why?” because thats the way the lights work” “Why?” and sooner or later you tire out and don’t answer anymore. Im sure you have all played that game before. A child is never satisfied with the now they always want more, they always are searching for more. Thier drive to learn even in thier own way never comes to a halt. Always searching, explore, discovering.
I realize that children believe anything is possible, i realize they love unconditionally, i see how they dont have a problem with miracles but expect them.
I think about the times when a group of little kids are laughing hysterically unconcerned that all the adults are frowning and having a bad day. They don’t let other people affect them the affect other people. Just try to not smile when watching children i think its next to impossible they bring so much joy and so much laughter.
Like Brandon said “Insecurity,” “worry,” and “fear of man” aren’t in their dictionary, well i think there are few more words that could also go in there like “Impossible,” “reality,” “death”
I think that is what Jesus meant when he said “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14) he was thinking “If only my disciples would act like children sometimes they wouldn’t have such rough days, and would find life much more enjoyable if they laughed a little more and stopped being so serious”
Maybe its time we look at our world through the eyes of a child (Phl 4:13). Maybe its time we look at the difficult situations in our life like a child would. Lets start to live as if nothing is impossible (Matthew 19:26). Lets start to expect miracles . Lets life our life with so much joy and laughter that when people look at us they can’t help but smile and laugh. Lets live with trust knowing our father is there to catch us. Let us go back to the days where we were all superhero’s. Let us have no fear of the unknown but know our father will come scoop us up in his arms if we get close to danger. Let us affect the world around us and not be affected. Let us continue to explore and imagine. Let us again be like children. Live like a child, love like a child, laugh like a child.
As you begin a journey of living again like a child be blessed with unwavering joy, never ending peace, courage beyond belief, and trust beyond compare, love without rebuke, and and expectancy to see the impossible become a reality!

Grace what is it Really?
December 10th, 2010
travisyoung Is it the ability to fail and be forgiven or the ability to succeed?
You could look at Grace like this. You have two newlywed couples. In one marriage the husband is always reminding the wife that he loves her and no matter what she does she will be loved under anything circumstance. In the other marriage the husband is constantly telling the wife what to do and the way she should act in order for her to maintain (earn) his love. My question for you is in which relationship do you think the wife feels more loved? Who do you think will respond better to their husband? Which wife will love more? The one who is loved unconditionally or the one who is kept in check with rules and regulations.
Law vs Grace
Control vs Unconditional love
Which one maintains you?
I just recently played volleyball with a few friends. Only three people showed up to play so we invented a way to play with only those three people. The way we play was 1 man against the other 2. The one man always served. We started playing first to 5 wins rally point (meaning a point is scored every serve) At first every game the server would lose either from messing up his serve or just not being able to handle 2 skilled players on the other team. So we decided to throw something in we called a grace serve. The grace serve gave the player who was serving another chance to serve again if he missed his first one. The funny thing was once we did this the person who was serving was winning practically every single game. I found this to be pretty interesting. While serving i discovered i could try as hard as i wanted to doing my best knowing that if i messed up i would still have another chance to serve again. With the grace serve in play i was hitting the ball harder, faster, and more accurately. With the Grace serve in play i was not afraid to go all out vs playing it safe knowing full well if you messed up it would be over. Grace empowers you to try harder verses no grace leaves you playing it safe because you know there is a high possibility of failure.
“well where are you going with this Travis?”
If we truly understood the grace of God we would live a life of empowerment and knowing when we take risks if we fail or mess up then grace is there to catch us, to save us. However is we choose to refuse grace and live under the law and play it safe because we are under the mindset that we will be punished for failing then we will never attempt to do anything extraordinary. We might not take risks, and we won’t change the world.
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth come by Jesus Christ. John 1:17
for sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law but under grace. Romans 6:17
Failure seems so much smaller when compared to unmeasurable grace we receive through Christ Jesus
Grace is not a doctrine or a theology, it is a person and his name is Jesus. When you really get to know Jesus understanding grace is a lot more simple
So back to the original question; Is grace the ability to fail and be forgiven or is it the ability to succeed? Well i guess i would say to that you have to ask the right question. Really i think grace is the empowerment to succeed despite failure. I don’t see it as one or the other i see it as a gift that God gave us that allows us shoot high and if we miss then we keep getting shot after shot until we hit the bullseye.
Grace isn’t earned, and it isn’t achieved. It is given and it allows us to keep trying till we get to where we want to be. It allows us to break habits, and it helps us achieve wholeness and victorious living!
If you would like more resources about the Grace of God look at these
Joseph Prince teaches that when you sin you don’t fall from grace but into it
And this Book by Andrew Farley has a lot about Grace called the Naked Gospel
Enjoy my Friends this life of Grace that we have been given The lord bless you with peace and mercy, love and compassion, honor, strength and victory! Your Brother in Christ

Know Jesus
November 15th, 2010
travisyoung So if you have ever heard anything about Jesus or God or the Holy Spirit drop it all right now and listen to what i have to say. Forget everything you heard in church or were yelled at from preachers on the streets with signs and everything like that. Listen to this you need what i have in me and what i have written here. Your life depends on it (literally).
I want to list 3 things that you need to know about God
1. He has died and has already paid the price for every sin you have ever committed and will commit
1 John 2:2 – And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world.
So right now know God doesn’t see your sin he see someone he created and loves.
2. God sent his one and only Son for you so he could have a relationship with you
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Check that out – you may have heard this verse taught as God sent his son so we could be saved from sin and go to heaven when we die. Well that is true but not the main point. God died to save us from our sins but first and foremost to make it possible that we might have a relationship with him. John 17:3 – Now this is eternal life: that we may know [the only true God] and Jesus Christ, whom he sent.
3. All you have to do to Accept Christ into your life is place you hope, faith, and trust in Him (pretty simple)
Rom 10:9 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Pretty cool hey? You just have to believe right where you are at that Jesus is lord. And thats it. No fancy words, no sinners prayer just Jesus i put my hope, faith, and trust in you.
If you do want to pray a prayer you could start of with this…
Jesus thank you that you love me, thank you that you died on the cross for my sin, thank you have forgiven my sins, i take up your righteousness, holy spirit teach me and guide me into all truth. God give me a revelation of you and a revelation of your love. Thank you that you love me and will never forsake me or leave me. I choose to put my hope, and faith and trust in you. Come into my heart and into my life i receive your grace and choose now to follow you. Amen.
If you just accepted Jesus as the savior of your life, putting all your hope and trust in him, you are now saved – congratulations. I believe right now you feel a peace like you have never felt before. That hole that you have been trying to fill your whole life is now filled. Now i have a bunch of good news to share with you. If you didn’t put your faith in Jesus or believe in him thats ok you can still read the list it might make you want to believe in Him (Jesus) more when your done
1. You now have the creator of the universe living inside of you (Gal 2:20) which means you are now one spirit with him. You are now Joined with Christ (1 Cor 6:17, Mat 19:6) which means…
2. Your old self “sinful nature” is now dead (Rom 6:11, Rom 6:6, Gal 5:24, 2 Cor 5:17)
3. You don’t have to ever be sick any more you now have the secret to perfect health since you have power over the Devil and his sickness (John 10:10, Matthew 18:18, Matthew 10:1)
4. Jesus is never going to ever ever ever ever going forsake you cause you are now his dwelling place his temple. You wont ever be lonely again you will always have someone to talk to. (1 Cor 6:17, 1 Cor 3:16, Matthew 28:20, Hebrews 13:5-6)
5. You can now do all the things that Jesus did and greater! (heal the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead, set the captives free, calm storms, multiply food just to name a few) Some people may tell you this isn’t true. DON’T BELIEVE THEM!!!! Believe what Jesus said in his word and what he did (Matthew 4:24, Matthew 8:16, Matthew 14:36, Mark 1:24-26, Mark 5:35-42, Luke 7:12-15, Luke 4:18, Mark 4:39, Mark 6:41-44, He even said you would do greater things John 14:12)
6. Your physical circumstances will never again have to determine how your day goes, or in other words you don’t have to ever have a bad day again
(1 John 4:17, Romans 8:11)
7.You now have a purpose in life to make disciples, fulfill the great commission and be Christs ambassadors (representation) everywhere you go (Matthew 28:18-20,Matthew 10:7-8, 2 Cor 5:20-21, 2 Cor 5:18, Luke 10:7-9, Mark 16:15-20)
8. You will get to go to heaven when you die and spend eternal life praising and worshiping God in bliss and happiness. (John 3:16)
9. You now possess all the power and have all authority over Satan and the powers of Darkness. (Luk 10:19, Matthew 18:18)
10. You can ask God to do anything in Jesus’ name, and if His words remain in you and you remain in him it will be given to you (Matthew 18:19, John 14:14, John 15:7)
11.You never have to work or perform for love ever again because his love is a gift (Eph 2:8)
12. And last but not least you get to tell other people about Jesus and all of this good news (Luke 4:18, Luke 4:43, Mark 16:15)
So if you read the list above and were like “Wow knowing Jesus sounds pretty cool” well the invitation is still open and always will be to invite him into your life
What a great list huh? and its all true! You might be saying “Travis it sounds to good to be true.” Well all i have to say is thats what gospel actually mean “GOOD NEWS” its not about preaching at people, its not about shoving religion down their throats, and its not about getting them to pray a prayer, and its not about telling people they are sinners and are going to hell if they don’t accept Jesus. Its about being love and showing people how awesome God is how fun it is being a believer a follower of Christ.
Now that you have accepted Christ as your personal lord and Saviour i would like to share a little something. Right now as a new believer you may realize some things in your life are wrong (sin) and you need to give them up. There may be things in your life that are wrong (sin) and you have no idea that they are wrong. Well Romans 2:4 says it is the goodness of God that leads all man to repentance. So as your relationship deepens and as you draw closer to God he is going to continue to make you look more like him. So as your journey begins just talk to God ask him questions and read his word to receive the answers to your questions. Start with the Book of MARK then flip over two more books to John for another perceptive on the life of Jesus then i would recommend readingRomans, and then Hebrews. That is just where i would begin definitely with Mark and then you can go where ever you like Go Where you feel God is telling you to go there is no formula for reading the bible the only thing that is important is as your read you learn, and continue to apply what you read to your life and your relationship with God is strengthened.
By no means however will i give you this gospel and not tell you what to expect because of it.
It is a radical gospel (please look at the fallowing verses)Luke 9:23, Matthew 20:16, Luke 9:24, Luke 17:33 and some people get very offended at radical. There are some churchgoers that will tell you if you become a Christian life is going to be hard, some will tell you if you become a Christian you are going to be constantly under attack, there are those who will tell you that life is going to suck. Do not listen to them.
I will not lie, you will under go persecution (Matthew 5:11) Jesus said it and it happened to him and to his disciples. But do not worry. All of his disciples and all the other people who believed in Jesus thousands of years ago counted them selves blessed to suffer for the Good news. Once you fall so radically in love with God persecution will not matter because you know it is furthering the kingdom. 1 Peter 3:14-17
You might get ridiculed, you might get slandered, you might get beat, you may if it comes to the extreme lay down your life for the Gospel of Jesus Christ ( Hebrews 10:33-34) But do not let that deter you from accepting him because the good far, far, far, far, far, far, far outweighs to stuff that isn’t as fun. I want to ask you with the most sincerest of heart to look at your life. Have you tried to fill it with other things that have failed to satisfy? Have you tried to do things to make you happy and yet still feel miserable? Have you purchased earthly things in the hopes that there will no longer be a longing for something? Have you gained wealth, a reputation, and fame but still you feel poor? Have you been searching for something and failed to find it? I can tell you right there is only one answer and the answer is Jesus. he is the only thing that will satisfy, he is the only thing that will fill the whole in your heart, He is the one who will love you no matter what you have done or will do. He is the one who will never leave you and he is the one who made you. Please do not let any more time go by before you invite him into your life and begin a journey with him. Please do not leave this page before he is the main thing in your life.
Before i end this post i would like to share one last thing. Do not over complicate the Gospel. Its actually quite simple Jesus gave us two commandments to follow. In Mark 12:30-31 Jesus says first to “Love the lord you God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.” (basically giving him your everything) and then he said “Love you neighbor as yourself (doing unto others what you would have them do for you) for there are no commandments greater then these.” So what it really all comes down to is loving God and then loving people. Ill give you a pointer on how to do that; live like Christ set him as your example (Hebrews 1:3) says Jesus was the perfectly expressed will of the father so just do what Jesus did, and love people like he did. Thats all
I love you all i pray this helped a lot and now you are free and the hole in your heart has been filled. E-mail me if you have any questions at swornwate@gmail.com From your brother in Christ
Be blessed with glory and freedom, power and honor, peace and grace, love, mercy and compassion
Travis Young
The devil doesn’t win he cheats. You are the Winner (2 Cor 2:14)
October 30th, 2010
travisyoung I cant stand seeing people prayed for and not get well. I cant stand the fact of seeing people die because there isn’t a Christian around who knows who he is in Christ, and i also cant stand the fact that there are Christians out there walking and talking like Jesus and yet somehow still the devil ends up staying or worse yet killing the person.
I have news for you the Devil doesn’t Win he cheats, cause according to my bible 2Cr 2:14 says “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” Now what does that mean well let me tell you. We always win! Or at least we are designed to Win it is in our DNA cause we have the ultimate winner inside of us.
If you believe in Jesus ; belief as in meaning to place confidence in, or the conviction [an unshakable belief in something without need for proof or evidence] and trust [to be bold, to be secure, to have confidence in] to which a man is impelled by a certain inner and higher prerogative [exclusive right] and law of the soul
So if you place that kind of belief in God you cannot lose. Let me show you why you as a Believer are called to win how it is not part of your nature to lose, how winning is to be expected and losing is not to be tolerated.
First you are a winner! Lets get that in your head. Also the fact that the Devil isn’t allowed to hurt you its illegal and its trespassing know why? Cause Jesus said so here.
Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
The last part of the verse nothing shall by any means harm you actually means what it says and spoken from the very mouth of Jesus, translated into Hebrew it says… No one [Nothing] absolutely [Shall] never, certainly not, not at all, by no means [By any means] hurt, damage or harm [Harm] you [You] cool huh? sounds like anything that takes from you ISN’T allowed too.
Mat 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Here Jesus pronounced that you have been given all authority. The Devil will only win if you let him win.
Think about it like a Sports game. The only reasons the opposing team will continue to score on the other team and eventually win the game is because…
~The home team hasn’t found a way to effectively shut down the the opposing team
~They are not equipped well enough for the game
~They havn’t researched the enemy (styles of play, moves, way the team works)
~They dont know how to play or what they are doing
~They dont know the mission
~And they didn’t play a good offensive Game
Well right now let me tell you none of these apply to you. You have been given a training manual on how to win, and on top of that its already in you. Many have lost and gotten used to losing because no one has taken the time to show you what you are capable of doing and what your true talents and abilities really are through Christ Jesus.
well let me break it down to you and show you How to win and how none of the above things really apply to you
#1 You havn’t found a good way to effectively shut down the enemy
Well its easy God has given you authority to Shut down the Devil
Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Notice here how it doesn’t say pray to God that he will resist the Devil for you NO! he expects us to resist the Devil. He has given you power and authority and he expects you to use it. Its not Gods job to resist the Devil for us its ours to tell the Devil to sit down shut up and leave us alone.
#2 They are not well eqquiped for the Game
You are definitely well enough equipped for the Game
Eph 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ:
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Col 2:9-10 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (I notice it does say and i will give, well if you look in Mat 18:18 he says this once again and tells them they will do)
1Jo 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Rom 8:11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you
Looks like to me that we have all that we need, and that we have the son of God and his power inside of us. Yup You definitely have what it takes!
#3 They havn’t researched the enemy (styles of play, moves, way the team works)
Here basically it boils down to one scripture that describes the enemy
Jhn 10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.
Let me break it down for you
[Satan] Enemy Stealing Killing and Destroying = Bad
[God] Life and all its fullness = Good
We know what the Devil is up to He is a thief, a liar and a destroyer
In Rev 12:10 Satan is reffered to the Accuser of the Brethren and in1Pe 5:8 he is referred to as a roaring lion on seeking all whom he may devour. The only way he will be able to devourer you is if you are helpless. Well if you have Jesus then you are far from helpless as we discovered in the previous verses.
The devil strategy is evil and he will do anything, and say anything to try and get you to believe what he is saying is true. Lets bring this back to the sports game analogy, the only way a more powerful team will lose to a weaker one is they either dont expect something, they get arrogant, or the other team cheats.
The Devil can’t surprise you unless you let him. So don’t
1Cr 16:13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Dont be arrogant
Jam 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
1Pe 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
If you stay humble you will not fall, if you stay humble you will manifest victory (fruit of the spirit) in your life
And as to the Devil cheating just know you have the power and authority, so even if he does cheat put him in his place Rom 16:20 right under your foot. Dont ignore him and dont be sucked into his flattery and lies it will amount to nothing keep your eyes focused on the prize 1Cr 9:24 and he will not be able to trip you up
#4 They dont know how to play or understand what they are doing or they dont understand the mission
Our mission is Quite simple in Act 10:38 it talk about how Jesus went about destroying the works of the Devil, in Luk 4:18 it talks about how Jesus was sent to proclaim good news to the poor, release the captives, let the blind see and free people from oppression. Jhn 6:63 Jesus says his words were spirit and life we are all called to be like Jesus 1Jo 4:17 As he is so are we in this world. Eph 5:1 says we are called to be imitators of Christ. Jesus was perfect theology Hbr 1:3 he was Gods perfect representation so we can be as well.
This is what we have been commissioned to do Mat 10:7-8, Luk 10:8-9, Mar 16:15-16, Mat 10:1, Luk 10:19 Our mission is to change the world that is the “Game Plan” your coach has given you permission to to these things so go and do it! Its perfectly clear the game plan is for us to win, the game plan is to achieve victory.
#5 They dont know how to play a good offensive game
They say the best defense is a good offence. If you spend all your time reacting to what the devil is doing you wont spend very much time attacking him. I guess a good way to look at it is. In a sports game if you are tied or if the score is 0-0 you keep attacking the other side until the score is 1-0, or 2-0 or even 3-0. Some coaches i have found tell you to stop there and just play a defensive game to hold onto the lead, but our coach has called us to Destroy the Devil that means continually attacking till the score is 11-0 or 50-0 the point is to never let him get an edge on you or even score a “point”. Focus on God and if Satan gets in the way then take him out and then repeat process.
1Cr 4:20 For the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk; it is living by God’s power.
Mar 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
We have been called to walk in power and to Win
One last thing i would like to point out is Even in Death Jesus never even worried, he never panicked, and he never threw in the towel. He remained calm in every circumstance cause he knew he was the winner and he knew he had power over death.
The Story of Jirus and his daughter is a good example.
Luk 8:50 But when Jesus heard [it], he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
Jesus says this after he had heard the news of Jirus’ daughter dying not the usual reaction.
IN Luk 7:12-15 Jesus comes upon a funeral procession and sees a dead man being carried out of the city and he comes up to the group of people and says this “Weep not” then he goes over and touches the coffin and says “Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.” then the boy gets up
Jesus was never phased by death it never bothered him
Jhn 11 is the most familiar story about death the death of Lazarus. Jesus is told that Lazarus is sick yet he didn’t go to him right away. He stayed where he was for a while and then began to make his way to Lazarus’s house. He tells his disciples later that Lazarus has died but still continues on his way. Later he gets there and even after 4 days in the grave Jesus says a simple command “Lazarus come forth” and he does. This just goes to show you that times, and sickness, or how terrible the circumstance was Jesus remained calm and in control cause he knew he had the power to change the Situation.
In the same way so must we not panic or lose our heads in the face of death and sorrow we are called to use what we have been given and destroy the devil and all of his works. Out of love and power and authority we must become victor over death Just like Christ Jesus was always Victorious over death.
1Cr 15:55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
1Cr 15:57 How we thank God, who gives us victory over sin and death through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Rom 6:9 We are sure of this because Christ rose from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him.
Rev 1:18 I am the living one who died. Look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.
Since we know Jesus and believe in him we have power over death and the grave
I will leave you know with an amazing Quote
“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to join ranks with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much, nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory or defeat.” Theodore Roosevelt, Chicago, 1905. “The Strenuous Life.”
